By creating an account or using Reclaimt, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

1. What Reclaimt is

Reclaimt is a software tool that scans invoices you upload and identifies possible Alabama sales tax overpayments — what we call "recovery leads." Reclaimt does not file refund claims, represent you before the Alabama Department of Revenue (ALDOR) or, for self-administered municipalities, the relevant city's tax office, or act as your tax preparer, accountant, or legal representative. You (or your accountant) decide what to do with the leads we surface.

2. No guaranteed outcomes

A recovery lead is not a refund. It's our best estimate, based on the information you upload and the tax rate data available to us, that a specific charge may have been incorrect. Whether any amount is actually refundable depends on the review of the applicable taxing authority — the Alabama Department of Revenue (ALDOR) for ALDOR-administered jurisdictions, or the relevant city's own tax office for self-administered municipalities — your documentation, applicable deadlines, and other factors outside our control. We do not guarantee that any lead will result in an actual refund, credit, or recovery of any amount.

3. Not tax, legal, or financial advice

Reclaimt is a software tool, not a substitute for professional advice. Nothing we provide should be treated as tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice. We'd encourage you to review any recovery lead with a qualified accountant or tax professional before relying on it or filing a claim based on it.

4. Your account and data

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for the accuracy of the invoices and information you upload. We rely on the data you give us — if the underlying invoice or vendor information is wrong or incomplete, the leads we generate from it may be wrong too. 5. Free scan and unlock fee

Scanning your invoices is free. There's a cap on how many vendor invoice records and ship-to locations can be processed before payment (currently 2,000 invoice records and 5 ship-to locations), prioritized by the sales tax paid on each record, so the records with the most tax paid are scanned first. If we identify a potential refund, a fee applies to unlock your full results and CSV export; you'll always see the exact amount before you're charged. If we don't find anything, you don't pay anything. Uploading a significant amount of additional invoice data after payment may trigger an additional fee before further processing continues.

6. Service provided "as-is"

We work to keep Reclaimt accurate and available, but we don't promise the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. Tax rate data, jurisdiction boundaries, and geocoding results can occasionally be incomplete or outdated despite our best efforts, which is part of why every result is a "lead" and not a final determination.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Reclaimt's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you actually paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including lost profits or a refund that didn't ultimately materialize.

8. Ending your account

You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, misuse the service, or attempt to abuse our systems (including automated signups or scraping).

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Reclaimt evolves. If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you directly.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
